Pet Protocol

Pet Protocol

Many residents own dogs that they take out for daily walks.  Please pick up after your pet.  When you’re outdoors with your animal pal, always bring a bag or two for cleanup.  Uncollected pet waste is unsightly, unsanitary, and unhealthy.  It is also a pollution source for our beautiful Bay.

Also, dogs must be leashed and under your direct control when outdoors.  This is a courtesy to others, a County & Town law, and a requirement of our Association covenants.  There’s nothing more disconcerting than walking your dog and having an unleashed dog come bounding up to check out your pet, twisting up your leash, tripping you, and frightening everyone.  All the while hearing the other owner yell “Spot, don’t do that!”  As if Spot is listening.

Please be considerate!

Contact Information Form

Contact Information Form

The CSHOA Board of Directors maintains a community directory of owners and residents.

Many of you in the past have provided a Contact Information form but your information may have changed.  If you have never submitted your contact information to the Board or there have been changes, we strongly ask that you take some time to fill it a Contact Information form and mail it back to us, even if you believe that the Board or our management company already holds current information about you.  The form is available here.

This information is needed to so that the Board of Directors and our management company can effectively communicate with members on legal and administrative business of the HOA.  It is also a safety need – should there be an emergency or police issue at a residence, the Board, or a next door neighbor with up-to-date information can quickly contact the owner.  Note that the form provides a means for you to indicate what information you would like published in a public directory, which is only distributed to Chesapeake Station members and residents.  Regardless of your choice, please complete the entire form.

Participation in the public directory is optional but encouraged.  To protect our member’s privacy, the directory is not be posted on our web site.  However, it is available to Chesapeake Station residents.  If you would like a copy of the directory, please email us with a request at cshoa@comcast.net and we’ll send you an electronic copy.

Annual Owners Meeting

It’s that time again for the CSHOA  Annual Owners Meeting.  The meeting will be held on Saturday, September 13 at the Northeast Community Center.  Doors will open at 9:30AM for registration and the business meeting will begin at 10:00AM.

All owners of record will be receiving a hard copy of the meeting materials in a few days in the mail.  The package consists of:
Cover Letter
Meeting Agenda
Proxy Form for those who will be unable to attend in person
Proposed 2025 budget
Volunteer Flyer

The cover letter references the Draft 2024 Meeting Minutes, which is on the agenda for approval by members.

Please let us know at cshoa@comcast.net if you do not receive the hard copy mailing!  We may have the wrong address for you.

A healthy HOA depends on active participation by owners so please try to attend.  If you can’t come, make sure to return the Proxy Form included in the package or hand it to another owner who will be attending.  A quorum of owners is required at this meeting either by proxy or physical presence in order for us to conduct business.

We will be looking for owners who are willing to stand as candidates for the Board of Directors and our various Committees.  Please consider volunteering for a Board or Committee position.

See you there!

Fireworks 2025

The Town of Chesapeake Beach will be holding their annual Independence Day fireworks celebration soon.  This annual event is scheduled for Thursday, July 3 with a rain date of Saturday, July 5. CSHOA will be closing the north and south C St. entrances to Chesapeake Station and the entrance to the Overlook.  Beginning at 4:00PM, vehicle access to Chesapeake Station at Mears Ave. and at 17th St. and at the Overlook entrance WILL BE RESTRICTED to those vehicles that have a valid Chesapeake Station sticker or carry a one-day parking pass.  Up to four one-day guest passes are available for Chesapeake Station households on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Passes are not required for pedestrians.

Passes may be requested at cshoa@comcast.net.

Chesapeake Station receives a lot of visitors on that day so please ask your guests to consider carpooling.  If your guests are arriving early, consider having them park in public areas and walk into Chesapeake Station.  If your guests don’t have a parking pass, their vehicle will not be admitted even if you vouch for them.

NOTE – If you lease your property to others, we may not have your tenant’s contact information.  Please ensure they are aware of the rules and restrictions that will be in place that day.

Parking is permitted in private driveways, with permission of the householder, or in the street.  However, please be considerate and do not park in a location that blocks a driveway or road access.  Remember that you are responsible for the conduct and safety of your guests.  And a final reminder –  use of fireworks is prohibited.  Please instruct your guests that they may not set off firecrackers, rockets, or explode anything anywhere in Chesapeake Station, including your own yard.

Be aware of the usual traffic plan that the Town will put in place around the time of the start of the Fireworks that is designed to eliminate left hand turns on a portion of Route 261 through the Twin Beaches.  The centerline of Route 261 will be blocked with delineation devices that will prohibit vehicles from making U-turns. Traffic north of Route 260 along Route 261 on the east side of Route 261 must make right turns and exit left on 5th Street to Boyd’s Turn Road to Route 260.  Traffic on the west side of Route 261 must make a right turn and exit on 27th Street to G Street to Route 260. Traffic south of Route 260 along Route 261 on the east side of Route 261 must make a right turn and turn left onto Route 260.  Traffic on the west side of Route 261 must turn right and continue along Route 261 to Summer City Blvd or continue south to Ponds Wood Road and proceed to Maryland Route 4.

Thanks for your cooperation and help, and we hope you have a wonderful Independence Day celebration.
